Savers Saving

For once, it was not I who instigated our venture to Savers. My boyfriend, having just moved into a share house where apparently only one of the three other occupants cooks, needed plates, cutlery and tupperware and suggested a visit to Savers.

I was more than happy to join him :)

Just Jeans Dress, $12.99

I remember seeing this dress in the shops and trying it on a few times, umming and ahhhing over it. It was $70 then. Now, it's mine for $13!

Belly Basics, $14.95

A lovely red wine velvet dress, short and with long sleeves- perfect for winter! I just realised though, with the brand name... it's probably designed for pregnant lady proportions. Really, though, who will notice?

Laurentino dress, $9.99

This last dress was a spur of the moment grab. It had been disregarded on the wrong rack and I picked it up, held it up to me and thought 'why not?'. Again, the colours are much prettier in real life :)

I'm hoping some of my second hand goodies can make some people happy tomorrow: my sister and I are holding a stall at a trash and treasure market. Very much looking forward to it! Very exciting!

I do so love Diana Ferrari. Not only are her dresses lovely, but her shoes are so comfy! I found these simple flats yesterday in David Jones on sale. Was $89.95, now $44.95. Very happy little me :)

Inundated

Apologies for the lack of posts on my blog lately. I imagine it's fairly low on the radar if you're in Australia like me. I've been glued to the television watching the Queensland Flood Crisis with pure shock and astonishment.

It's mind blowing.

My thoughts and heart go out to all those affected by the floods. I would like to encourage people to donate either their time or money to the flood relief appeal.

My boy moves into his new place today. Very exciting! It's closer to the city, so it'll be perfect to crash at after a night in the city and a lovely park next door.

Rose without thorns

I have begun to watch my beloved Tudors. Season 4 is the final season (*cries inside*) and begins with the flighty and frivolous Catherine Howard. At the end of Season 3, I already hated the stupid Catherine Howard, but now I find myself warming to her.

I believe if I were to suddenly and unexpectedly became queen, I'd carry on like her. I'd giggle away everything, enjoy every splendor the wealth and status brought with it.

Already, Season 4 is more visually beautiful than ever. I'm so excited!

Diaries and tea

As I mentioned in my other post, I Friday was a shopping day. While I was searching make-up counters for a quality lip and cheek stain/tint (suggestions still welcome!), my main purpose was to locate and purchase a 2011 diary. I've never been one to use a diary for appointments, essays, dates etc, but I thought I'd give it a go this year. I have decided to give it a go this year, particularly with the need for me to self-manage my Masters research.

So I found a small purple pocket diary for me to take on the go, and this larger, beautiful green diary. My requirements for my diary were simple: no weak spiral holding it together; 1 day per page; easy enough to cart around. I'm very excited by my Daycraft diary :) It also feels lovely and smooth to touch.

And pretty rainbows on the inside! :)

You may also notice T2 Ruby Red Rosehip tea there. Yep, I'm going to give tea a go! I have so many teapots, it's about time I started drinking it. Starting with rosepetals, naturally!

Easy breezy dress

I don't often wear this dress for some reason. I guess it's the maxi length; usually I'm a knee length dress kinda girl. Today though, this dress is perfect. It's a hot 34 degrees here today, with bit of a breeze. The air just flows beautifully through this dress, giving it life and keeping me cool. What more could you want? :)

Here's a close up of the material, because I feel the beauty of this dress is not truly captured in my pictures. It screams a lovely green when I wear it and the light shines through it.
