Call me.

While returning a book to the library today, I stumbled across this gorgeous dress. I ran straight to the change rooms to try it on. Did a few swishes in it (it is well known that swishing is a necessity in the process of dress trying on) and loved it. It had to be mine :) It's been a while since I purchased a new new dress! And of course, when I do, it's from Tree of Life. They have some super cute dresses in at the moment, so definitely worth checking out at the moment :)

An oh-so-classy shot of the dress, and a door handle.

I was - and obviously still am - so in love with the fabric. It looks a little greyer in the pictures than it is in real life, although I suppose it is really a grey-ish blue.

The dress also happens to match my new favourite nail polish - "Call Me" by Faces of Australia. Love me some classy pink with a bit of shimmer behind it all. Plus, picking at it stops me from biting my nails - a nasty habit that I thought I had lost has returned! Nooooooo!

Anyway, enough of my sales pitches. I hope you're all well and enjoying the beginnings of spring!

Fragrance

L-R: Happy Spirit by Chopard, E' Clat D'Arpege by Lanvin and Chloe by Chloe

I'm a lover of perfumes. I'm particularly fond of fresh florals, although I do also like those with sandalwood undertones. My mother and sister on the other hand, loves the sweet citrus smells.

Anyway, I thought I'd share with you the three favourites of my collection.

Happy Spirit by Chopard

This is the strongest and heaviest scent of the three, so I only wear it when I'm feeling dramatic. It initially reminds me of incense, with woody smells under a floral burst. It lasts well throughout the day and I have received many compliments for it.

E'Clat D'Arpege by Lanvin

This is my absolute favourite of the three. I've been wearing it pretty much everyday for the last... two years? Maybe longer. It's floral, subtle and classy. I feel neat and feminine when wearing it. It doesn't feel locked into a season, which is another reason why I love it. It's perfect in summer when you want just a hint of delight and warm enough in winter to dress up any outfit. Love love love love love.

Chloe by Chloe

I love the sweet rosy scent of Chloe. It captures youth and warmth, with a sprinkle of cupcakes and bunches of roses. I've been squirting this one on a lot this summer. It's light and breezy, which is what I love for summer. I am cautious of it possibly being too sweet, which is what deters me from wearing it everyday. I do enjoy it though :)

Falsies fail

Time to complete my review on Maybelline's Falsies.

As I mentioned in my first post about Maybelline's Falsies, the main testing factor in my love or hate for a mascara depends on whether it smudges throughout the day.

Unfortunately, Falsies smudged and died. I finished the day with panda eyes and I was so glad that I hadn't worn it out and about town. I didn't take a picture at the time, which I now realised I should have. Next time, I promise!

While I loved the dramatic look it gave initially, it did weaken as the black mascara laid to rest on my eyebags instead of eyelashes.

The waterproof factor was also a problem. This stuff is seriously difficult to remove. I used make up removal, showered and then used more make up remover with no luck. I tried covering it up with concealer. The same day a stranger asked if I was okay, and was I suffering from a black eye? Not a compliment any lady wants!

Give it a go for yourself, but personally, I won't be using this product again :(

Falsies

Yesterday was a shopping day. I spent most of my time browsing make-up. I'm hunting for a good cheek and lip tint (any suggestions?) but while I was snooping about, I came across Maybelline's "Falsies" Volume Express mascara. And with all Maybelline mascaras going for $10 in Priceline, I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Note: I've only applied the mascara to my top lashes

So far, so good. The Very Black is, indeed, very black. And it seems to really define my lashes - they feel bigger than ever and I love it! The ultimate test for me in mascara though is whether it smudges throughout the day. I hate hate hate panda eyes. Seeing as I scrunch up my face when I laugh the panda eyes often plague me. So I'll keep you updated on the smudginess :)
