Princess and the Teapot

It appears that my grandma has been having her own craftanoons of late, for she gifted me with this gorgeous porcelain teapot princess.

Isn't she divine?

When we were younger, my gran would make porcelain dolls for our birthdays and the like. They were the most precious gifts, and still are. These days grandma still makes the porcelain dolls, but on a smaller scale and with these delicate hand knitted beaded skirts.

Miss Marple shall be her name :)

Mermaids On Stranger Tides

I love mermaids and love stories. So it was kind of inevitable that I would enjoy the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I only wish that the mermaid love story was the main story of the film.

Yay! Mermaid love story!

As mermaids, they looked gorgeous. I've searched for a decent picture of the mermaid costume, but can't find anything quality yet. Below you can see some of the costume detail.

The crazy vampire frenzy feeding session mermaid bit though? Not so good. Ridiculous even.

I think they could have been more haunting if they just quietly slipped the men into the water and just kept pulling them down. Less hissing that way, too.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is good. The same easy entertainment film that the others have been. I really enjoyed it, especially with the mermaid factor. Definitely worth seeing if you're in a movie mood :)

I hope this will open up the gateway for more mermaid films. *fingers crossed*

Tangled

I had a lovely lady date the other day with some of my fellow Disney Princess obsessed friends to see Tangled. It was the perfect group of girls to see this adorable film with :)

I admit though, all the way through it I kept seeing glimpses of past Disney Princess films which irked me a little and there are instances were they could have done a whole lot more with music, singing and story. Overall though it was a darling movie and I'll be getting it when it comes out on DVD :)

It was a wonderful return to the princess genre and Disney definitely left it's creative mark on Rapunzel. I enjoyed their creativity with the storyline :)

It was magnificent to watch. Before the film started, there was a preview for a film called Mars Wants Moms and the CGI humans in that film looked creepy. Half the time we were wondering if they were human or not (click here and you'll see what I mean). The computer graphics in this film is much more comfortable. It had the visuals of a classic Disney movie, without the general harshness of CGI films.

Also, it made Flynn a spunk. Matt le Blanc smolder and all! Not as spunky as Aladdin, but spunky enough. Second spunkiest Disney Prince, definitely.

The evil witch was wonderful and she got the best songs - yep! It truly is the return of the traditional Disney princess movie with songs and all :) Nothing quite as awesome as Poor Unfortunate Souls (my all time favourite 'bad guy' song, followed by Gaston), but great fun. My friend has already learnt all the words!

This little guy, Pascal, is my favourite side-kick yet. He is just too adorable and cute and squishy and I want one! Hahaha He won a lot of laughs out of our audience. Moreso than the horse Maximus, who is rumoured to be one of the best horse characters in the movie business *nods*

And it was all layered with the perfect amount of mushy sappiness. What more do you need from a Disney princess movie? :)

Josephine Wall

I love art. I always have, always will. I also love fairies, beauty and fantasy. Josephine Wall's paintings are a perfect blend of these. I thought I'd share a few of my favourites with you :)

What I love about Josephine's painting is that you can keep looking and looking and find more and more wonderful hidden beauties within each painting.

Moonrise

I just so happen to take a peek outside my window early one morning last week as I was getting ready for my day. I was amazed at the haunting beauty which lay out in front of me: the moon slowly falling to sleep. It shone so brightly... It was truly beautiful. This picture obviously does not give it justice.

to the market!

I do love the Healesville Market. The overreaching oak trees that line the racecourse provide lovely shade (from rain or shine) and the people there are all wonderful. The foods are delicious, the crafts are darling and the outing is such a fine one with my mother, her sister and my grandmother.

Today's collection? Another fairy (naturally) from Conny Deylen and a beautiful bunch of flowers for $4! (See if you can spy the fairy in the picture below)...

Fairies

Clarissa, my fairy godmother :)

I love fairies. They can be magical, cheeky, seductive, sweet, mischeavous, kindly... They always have thier own unique personalities and abilities. While usually mermaids top my favourite mystical creatures, fairies come in a very close second. So it is not surprising that I have fairies littered across my room and house. Let me introduce you to some of them :)

More of an elf than a fairy due to his size, Charlie is a cheeky and fun-loving kinda guy :)

Isabella, a decadent dark fairy with a heart that shines like the moon :)

A fairy with a love of fairy floss, pink champagne and a bit of lovin' is Tipsy :)

Each of these fairies has been lovingly created by Conny Deylen who is a lovely lady and a regular at the markets I go to. Each fairy is unique and absolutely gorgeous. You can check out some of her creatures here.
